- Disowned Adaptation: Stan Lee was more fond of the concurrent Japanese attempt at an adaptation than this show. In fact, in a 1985 interview with Comics Feature, he refered to it as a "total nightmare", when in comparison he said that Doctor Strange and The Incredible Hulk (1977) were fine and Captain America (1979) was "a bit [of a] disappointment".
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: The series has never received a DVD release, but most of the episodes have been released on VHS.
- The Other Darrin:
- Aunt May is played by Jeff Donnell in the Pilot Movie and by Irene Tedrow in the episode "Night of the Clones".
- Another cast difference from the pilot movie is J. Jonah Jameson, where he was portrayed in the pilot by David White and in the series by Robert F. Simon.
- What Could Have Been: In the mid-80's, a revival special crossing over with The Incredible Hulk (1977) and having Spider-Man don the black suit he gained in Secret Wars (1984) was planned. While Spider-Man's actor Nicholas Hammond believed that the project was cancelled because Lou Ferrigno was unavailable to play the Hulk due to being busy with Hercules (1983), Ferrigno later clarified that he wasn't told about the planned special and that he had finished filming Hercules at the time, so his availability wasn't an issue.
