- Dueling Works: This was one of four completely different, identically titled games based on Batman: The Animated Series and released in 1994/95, the others being on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega CD, and Game Gear.
- It also dueled with the Batman Forever game, which came out on the Sega Genesis and SNES almost simultaneously.
- Follow the Leader: The game wears its Gunstar Heroes influence on its sleeve, with its mixture of run-and-gun and beat-'em-up gameplay, aversion of One-Hit-Point Wonder, liberal use of Unexpected Shmup Level, and long, multi-phase boss battles.
- One-Hit Wonder: One of only two games developed by Clockwork Tortoise, the other being the more obscure—and completely different—Sega CD game of the same name.
- Similarly Named Works: There are games called The Adventures of Batman and Robin for the Super Nintendo, Sega CD, or Game Gear, which, while sharing the title, are all completely different games.
