* CutSong: A few songs cut from the film were actually demo versions of the songs that later appeared in the film. One notable mention goes towards "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrMMW9H1QoU 6/8 Intro]]" which was actually Phil Collins' proposition as to how the music in the film should sound. Another one is "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-fFMqsPRh8 I Will Follow]]" which served as a precursor to "Strangers Like Me", but it sounds more like Tarzan is trying to make Jane feel happy.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Michael T. Weiss replaced Tony Goldwyn as the voice of Tarzan in the TV series. [[Film/HomeAlone Alex D Linz]] is his younger voice for the prequel.
** Susanne Blakeslee replaced Glenn Close as the voice of Kala in most of her later appearances.
** Olivia D'Abo replaced Minnie Driver as the voice of Jane in the TV series.
** Jeff Bennett replaced Nigel Hawthorne as the voice of Professor Porter in the TV series.
** Several other actresses, such as April Winchell and Audrey Wasilewski, replaced Rosie O'Donnell as the voice of Terk in most of her later appearances.
** Jim Cummings replaced Wayne Knight as the voice of Tantor in most of his later appearances.
* RelationshipVoiceActor: In the Japanese dub, basically [[Manga/FistOFTheNorthStar Raoh is married with Mamiya, rather than Yuria instead, while Souther wants to kill both of them]].
* SameLanguageDub: A weird case. According to '''Creator/BrianBlessed''', although Tony Goldwyn provided the voice for Tarzan in the theatrical animated Tarzan film, Brian provided Tarzan's iconic yodel.
* ScienceMarchesOn: The main reason Disney changed the [[FrazettaMan Mangani]] to gorillas is because of this: Gorillas have been found to be the {{Gentle Giant}}s of the jungle, and thus perfect animals for a Disney film.
* ThrowItIn: The scene where Jane was ranting about what happened to her, her father and Clayton, after being rescued from the baboons? That whole thing was improvised by her voice actor, Minnie Driver.
** Likewise much of Professor Porter's reaction to her ranting was improvised along with other lines such as "Oh, just like Aunt Isabelle" when Jane describes how Tarzan walks.

* This is considered to be the final film of the Disney Renaissance (the next film in line was the long-awaited sequel to ''Disney/{{Fantasia}}'', ''Disney/{{Fantasia 2000}}'', which had been announced back in 1991, and this film is considered the beginning of the Millennium Age of Animation), and ''Tarzan'' is the only one of the Renaissance films to not be packaged in an animated film specialty line for [[Creator/WaltDisneyHomeVideo home media]] (the ''Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection'', which replaced the ''Walt Disney "Black Diamond" Classics'' brand in 1994, was discontinued around ''Tarzan's'' theatrical release with ''Disney/TheAdventuresOfIchabodAndMrToad'', and while a new brand, the ''Walt Disney Gold Classic Collection'' brand, was created for 2000, ''Tarzan'' wasn't packaged in it, plus the ''Gold Classic Collection'' died a quick death, only lasting 14 months compared to the years of its two predecessors; the next two lines, the ''Platinum/Diamond Editions'', don't include ''Tarzan'' since those lines concern the "Untouchables" in the Disney Vault, which ''Tarzan'' is not a part of).
