Trivia / Sunset Eclipsed

• Approval of God: Sort of. The author, Bauglir 100, sent a picture and profile of Scarlet Blaze (Sunset Shimmer's mother in the story) to Rebecca Shoichet (who voices Sunset Shimmer in the actual MLP franchise) and Ellen Kennedy (who is the voice actress the author had in mind for Scarlet, and also does voice-work on the show), and received positive feedback from both of them on the picture, and on the profile in the latter's case.
• Hypothetical Casting: There's a whole list of voice actors intended for the Original Characters featured in Sunset Eclipsed and Sunset Rekindled. Some examples include:
  • Jeff Bennett for Sunset Shimmer's brother, Radiant Dawn.
  • Lazlow Jones for Sunset's father, Golden Sun.
  • Ellen Kennedy for Sunset's mother, Scarlet Blaze.
  • Scott Mcneil for Frosty, Sigma, and Ghost.
  • Gary Chalk for Nose Nip.
  • David Kaye for Lord Umbriel/Prince Embryo.
  • Michael Dorn for Lionel Summerset.
  • Levar Burton for Felix Summerset.
  • Maurice Lamarche for King Nelphyn.
• What Could Have Been
  • The war between the Chrysalis Syndicate and the Diamond Dog Cartel was originally going to be more prominent in Sunset Eclipsed, and Lt. Sigma would have been killed during this plotline.
  • The climactic encounter with the Chrysalis Syndicate would have been resolved on the Equestria side of the portal. Originally, the Chrysalis Syndicate would have sent even more soldiers into Equestria than just Proxy Squad, and they would have retained their human forms and equipment. Also, the confrontation was going to begin much earlier, after Sunset Shimmer's nightmare in the chapter "Umbriel's Tale", when she was abducted by Chrysalis Syndicate operatives (changed at the last minute into another phase of her nightmare).
