Trivia / Resident Evil 0

  • What Could Have Been: Resident Evil Zero was initially developed as an Nintendo 64 game due to the short load times that a cartridge medium would have provided for the game's character-switching system compared to the PlayStation's CD-ROM media. After the REmake was announced, development was switched to the Nintendo GameCube to put Zero's graphics on par with it and make the story more consistent. Another reason for the switch was that the game was so large and ambitious for the N64, it would had to been put on two cartridges. One of the most notable changes between the two versions is that the N64 version would have confirmed that the hand that Joseph Frost found in the original Resident Evil was indeed Edward Dewey's.
