Trivia / Resident Evil 0

  • What Could Have Been: Resident Evil 0 was initially developed as an Nintendo 64 game due to the short load times that a cartridge medium would have provided for the game's character-switching system compared to the PlayStation's CD-ROM media. After the REmake was announced, development was switched to the Nintendo GameCube to put Zero's graphics on par with it and make the story more consistent. Another reason for the switch was that the game was so large and ambitious for the N64, it would had to been put on two cartridges. A change for the better, to be sure, but it makes for some interesting Fan Wank at times. One of the most notable changes between the two versions was yes, that was Edward Dewey's hand Joseph found in the opening of the original Resident Evil.
