** That said, as mentioned elsewhere in other subpages, ShipTease can truly reach ridiculous proportions, the epitome of which would be the early 2013 StoryArc where Marten, right after Claire revealed herself to be [[spoiler:transgender]], started to [[SpotlightStealingSquad share a lot of screentime with her all of a sudden]], going as far as asking her to accompany him to his father's wedding. The [[TheRant commentary]] for [[http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2405 this strip]] outright says "I am trolling you guys pretty hard". Still, it's been four strips in a row being ''nothing but fan-trolling'' (at the [[ArcFatigue expense of storytelling]]). Four hundred strips later, it turns out [[RedHerring it wasn't trolling]], but [[RelationshipUpgrade foreshadowing ...]]
** Starting with [[https://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=4230 here]], the strip leaned heavily on the implication that [[spoiler: Clinton and Elliot]] were finally going to make good on all the hints that been dropped in the past about the possibility that they're bi and fancy each other, but Jacques stamped on all that two strips later.

* TheMerch:
** Characters will sport a new funny slogan or t-shirt in a few strips, then Jeph will talk about it in his Info post, then it will show up in the Merchandise section. Doing a massive Archive Crawl, you could see this six or seven times in a short span. It ain't called the "Questionable T-Shirt Factory" for nothing.
** You can buy plush Yelling Birds in the store. Plushies of Pintsize and Winslow have also been made.
