Trivia / Princess Trixie Sparkle

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • itsannachloem does the voices of Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Princess Celestia, and Mayor Mare.
    • Raechel Anderson voices both Trixie and Princess Luna.
    • Magpiepony herself voices Pinkie Pie, Astelle, and Apple Bloom,
    • GloryoftheRainWings voices Applejack, Spike (only in episodes 9 and 10 for the latter), Scootaloo, and Derpy.
    • Mary Medley voices Fluttershy (singing voice in episode 6, speaking and singing in episodes 7 and onward) and Princess Cadence.
    • PegasusPitchVA voices Shadow and Shining Armor.
    • TheLostNarrator voices Vinyl Scratch and Bon Bon, though they don't interact.
    • Averted with Emogak. He voiced Rainbow Dash only in the first three episodes, and Zecora only in episode 7. As such, his characters never interacted.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices:
    • Spike in episodes 9 and 10 only was voiced by GloryoftheRainWings.
    • Emogak (now known as Kai Wolfe) voiced Rainbow Dash in the first three episodes, and Zecora in Episode 7 (he is a female-to-male transgender man, though had not publicly come out at the time of the audio drama.)
  • Descended Creator:
  • Dueling Works. With Bride of Discord. Both are MLP audio dramas based off of the creator's previously written fanfics. Both use songs with new lyrics written to the tune of an already existing song (though Bride Of Discord uses them more sparingly while Princess Trixie Sparkle has two per episode). Both share some voice actors (like itsannachloem, Mary Medley, and Pinkie Rose) and artists (like fanshipping713, NStone53, and BronyCooper). Both creators are members of the LGBT community (DisneyFanatic2364 is a biromantic asexual and Magpiepony is pansexual) and both voice their favorite pony in their respective projects (Applejack for DF, Pinkie Pie for Magpiepony). That said, both creators admire each other's work (in fact, Bride Of Discord is what inspired Magpiepony to adapt Princess Trixie Sparkle into an audio drama, and some artwork from it can be seen as a Freeze-Frame Bonus in one episode) and both have helped each other out with certain projects. Also, the fans generally seem to like both audio dramas, with neither generally seen as being "better" than the other.
  • Fake American: Or "Fake American Accented Equestrian" in this case, as British VA itsannachloem voices Twilight Sparkle, Mayor Mare, and Princess Celestia. She also voices Rarity, whose accent, while technically Mid-Atlantic, is much closer to her natural one.
  • Non-Singing Voice: In episode 6, CrickVA does Fluttershy's speaking voice, while Mary Medley does her singing voice. Mary Medley would take over both her speaking and singing voices starting in episode 7.
  • The Original Darrin: GloryoftheRainWings took over the voice of Spike in episodes 9 and 10, but Haste Dash, who voiced him in the previous episodes, came back for Episode 11.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Rainbow Dash was voiced by Emogak for the first three episodes, but PurpleRoselyn would take over for the rest of the series. Interestingly, Emogak would take over Wubcake's role of Zecora in episode 7.
    • CrickVA voiced Fluttershy in episodes 1-6, but Mary Medley took over starting in episode 7 (she had previously done Fluttershy's singing in episode 6).
    • Haste Dash voiced Spike in episodes 1-8, but in episodes 9 and 10, the role was played by GloryoftheRainWings. Haste Dash did come back for the final episode, however.
  • Production Posse: Many of the people Magpiepony worked with would voice their characters again at some point in Pinkie Tales including itsannachloem, Mary Medley, Wubcake, GloryoftheRainWings, PurpleRoselyn, and Mic Roe Pony, while others, like Emogak, PegasusPitchVA, Raechel Anderson, and TheLostNarrator would voice different characters at some point. PegasusPitchVA also returns as sound editor, and of course, Magpiepony voices Pinkie Pie again. The two also share a few artists.
  • Promoted Fanboy: The extra singers of "Ponyville Needs Help" in episode 7 and the attendees of Trixie's magic show in episode 8 were played by fans of the project who entered contests held by Magpiepony to get their parts. Of particular note is Nevel Yashgi, who entered by making a deliciously hammy parody of one of the scenes from the audio drama, which made his audition one of the funniest. He has since appeared in two episodes of Magpiepony's other series, Pinkie Tales.
