Trivia: Pound Puppies (2010)

Have some tidbits about the 2010 version:

  • Actor Allusion: John DiMaggio is certainly no stranger to when it comes to talking dogs.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Patches, the leader of the Super Secret Pup Club, is voiced by Jessica DiCicco.
    • In general, voice actresses are typically cast as male pups (notably Cree Summer, Kath Soucie, Grey DeLisle, and EG Daily). This makes the irony of Patches' two male friends who berate him for being "girly" all the better.
  • Hey, It's That Voice!:
    • Head dog catcher Lenard McLeish is voiced by René Auberjonois, using a voice not entirely unlike the one he used for Odo.
    • Also (considering the creators), many from the Recess cast provide voices.
      • Principal Prickly has moved up to become mayor (in the first season).
      • Spinelli's the Mayor's son ("A Nightmare on Pound Street"), one allegedly cursed puppy ("Taboo", using the same voice she used for another Lucky), a sled dog ("Snow Problem") as well as the voice of other puppies in "The K9 Kid", "Call of the Squirreldog" and a number of other episodes.
      • Ashley Johnson is Toyoshiko and Giblet
    • Niblet is voiced by John DiMaggio, who voiced two other talking dogs.
    • George Takei is Mr. Julius.
    • Fang might have once roamed around Beverly Hills.
    • Carnie Wilson of the musical group Wilson Phillips provided the voice of the computer in "Toyoshiko!" as well as the singing voice for Olaf.
    • In "Bone Voyage", Gavin MacLeod voiced the captain of a cruise ship.
    • Danny Cooksey (Hotstreak and Mooch) voiced two kids Joey and Chucky, the security guard in "The K9 Kid" and the pups Yipper, Chip, and Humphrey.
    • Kath Soucie and Tress MacNeille provide quite a few voices.
    • Elizabeth Daily has shown up in many episodes, including as General Dolly, the head of all Pound Puppies.
    • Jim Parsons is Milton Feltwaddle.
    • Maurice LaMarche voiced of Jean-Luc Glacier in "Snow Problem" as well as Agent François in "Mutternal Instincts".
    • Cree Summer lends her voice to a number of the puppies, notably Cupcake.
    • Tara Strong is the voice of adoptee Zipper and provides many additional voices as well.
    • Rob Paulsen is Suds.
    • Lucky is Will Truman.
    • Cookie is Shirley Bennett.
    • Kevin Michael Richardson provides many voices.
    • James Remar (Hawkman, Vilgax) is Sarge.
    • Lauren Tom is Agent Ping and Giblet's perfect person, using her Minh and Connie Soupanousinphone voices.
    • Clancy Brown is Tyson, Rocky, Salty, and Stain.
    • JK Simmons is Lt. Rock and Dolores' J. Jonah Jameson-like father.
    • Alanna Ubach (Liz Allen) is Strudel.
    • Fred Stoller is McLeish's lazy and apathetic dog Ralph.
    • Agatha McLeish's beau Wally Banks of "The Fraud Princess" is voiced by Tim Conway, known to modern audiences as Barnacle Boy. His male dog Princess is voiced by Dom Irerra, known for his role as Ernie Potts, another small and surly male character.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content: The Hub ran a contest prior to the episode to determine Cinnamon's name.
  • Talking to Himself: The Pound Puppies' voice actors also provide the voices of their Kennel Kitten counterparts. Additionally, Alanna Ubach and John DiMaggio frequently voice pups, dogs, cats, and humans they cross paths with.
    • Eric McCormack voices both Lucky and Ace, which is appropriate, since the latter is basically a cat version of the former.
  • The Wiki Rule: Yip... uh, yep.
