Trivia / Øystein Sunde

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: Sunde has stated that he was reluctant to release his first five albums on CD because he was embarrassed of them.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: His five first albums were released on LPs, and had been sold out for many years when they were finally rescued with a CD release. Old Shame was the reason for the delay.
  • Playing Against Type: Most of Sunde's songs are humorous, but "Ute var det sol" is a genuinely tragic song about the story of the death of his father.
  • Throw It In!: The most blatant example is the recording of "Det året det var så bratt". Sunde tuned in on his last refrain a full half bar off, and tried to correct himself. The result was so funny, the producer decided to keep it in the final mix. Sunde railed off in the Fade Out with a lot of Word Salad nonsense.
