I Am Not Shazam: Despite it being the second cartoon series in the franchise, the "Generation 2" toys didn't come out for another few years afterwards. Yet people always refer to this series as "G2". note This is most likely due to the lying cover art on the DVD releases in the UK and Australia.
Keep Circulating the Tapes: See No Export for You below. Want it on DVD? Until recently, you would have had to be prepared to spend money on importing the four volumes from Australia and a region-free DVD player. However, this was averted in April 2015 when the series got a DVD release in the US.
No Export for You: Inverted- None of the toys based on this series were available in the USA. The series itself wasn't released on Home Video in the USA when it got a full series release in Australia and a partial release in the UK.
Finally averted after more than 20 years. Thanks again to Shout! Factory, the entire series is now available on DVD in North America.
Unintentional Period Piece: The "Jazzercise" in "Just For Kicks", the cassette player in "Stand By Me", the rapping in "Shop Talk" and the obvious parodying of MTV with PTV (which could possibly have been even further dated. New Ponies on the Block, anyone?).
