Trivia / Mega Man X: Command Mission

Go To

  • Do Not Do This Cool Thing: Lucas Gilbertson landed the role of Zero while playing hooky. He only bailed out since his sister was with him, who actually got the role of Ferham.
  • Feelies: The Mega Man Trading Card Game "Mega Man X" card came with copies of the game.
  • Manual Misprint: Two major mistakes:
    • The Rebellion Army is mistranslated as the "Liberion" Army.
    • Colonel Redips' name is mispelled as "Rideps" in every instance. This was possibly on purpose to hide the Sdrawkcab Alias twist from perceptive readers, especially on pages with both Spider and Redips mentioned.
  • Preview Piggybacking: The PlayStation 2 version of the game features a demo of Mega Man X8.
  • Prop Recycling: The texture for Axl's face in this game is identical to the one used in Mega Man X7. This results in his model having large anime eyes compared to the smaller redesigned eyes of the rest of the cast.
  • Real-Life Relative: In the English release, both Zero and Ferham are voiced by siblings.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Concept art shows the original Mega Man with a redesigned look, as well as Cut Man, hinting that they were going to be in the game in some capacity.
    • Dummied Out screenshots found in the game reveal that X was to have his more standard design for this game rather than his unique New Armor. Ryuji Higurashi actually addressed this, stating that X's plain blue was "the most boring thing on screen" so they decided to spice him up.
    • At first only X and Zero had Hyper Modes, but the staff felt it was unfair to the rest of the cast, so they gave them to everyone. This is why they all share the same transformation animations and only have recolors (i.e. Quicksilver turns Marino black), while X and Zero have completely unique designs.
    • Silver Horn had the temporary name "Trine Cannonhorn" (トライン・カノンホーン?) during his development, and a Mechaniloid similar to him, Twin Barrel (ツインバレル?), was planned to appear late in the game.
    • Ever wondered why Incentas' name doesn't follow the standard Mega Man X boss naming convention? Well, his name in Concept Art was "Louid Incentas" (ルイード・エンシェンタス), meaning at some point he did follow the two-word name pattern. What "louid" actually means is anyone's guess.
    • The original story was much longer, containing three more chapters than the ten that appear in-game. However, Capcom mandated that the story be cut down (possibly due to time or budget constraints more than out of a need for balance). This is likely why characters such as Marino and Cinnamon seem so half-baked and don't contribute much to the story after joining the party. Additionally, Depth Dragoon, Rafflesian, and Duckbill Mole were planned to appear as the bosses of these cut chapters to round off the typical "eight Mavericks" formula, so they were repurposed: Depth Dragoon was put in the Far East HQ, while the other two were made secret bosses.
