- Bad Export for You: Their DVD for Dogora is infamous amongst Toku fans for its incredibly grainy and unpolished picture transfer, complete with a distracting yellow line that pops up on occasions. This is especially baffling as many of their Tokusatsu releases used the Toho prints, yet the print used for the Japanese release was noticeably cleaner and sharper than what MB presented here.
- Development Hell: The company is known for their unfortunate tendency to take a long time from initial acquisition announcement to release date.
- No Dub for You: Quite a few examples, especially in the last few years. Though to their credit, they try to dub when they think there will be a market for it.
- No Export for You: Juden-chan and Ladies vs. Butlers lack the omakes present in the Japanese releases.
- The Other Darrin: When Media Blasters licensed the second season of Ikki Tousen, they declined to use New Generation Pictures (who had dubbed the first season) and instead used Headline Sound Studios, which was closer to MB's office. This resulted in a completely different cast, much to the fanbase's chagrin. On the plus side, the later seasons (one of which ironically handled by Media Blasters) brought back the season one cast, though some of the season two cast members came back where their characters debuted in said season to begin with.
- What Could Have Been:
- They were almost going to bring over Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, but sat on the license for too long and lost the rights as a result. It took 11 years for somebody to get the license again, but thankfully, Nozomi Entertainment did so in mid-2019.
- At one point, they had plans to dub the second season of Squid Girl, but they abandoned those plans, and eventually, the license expired. Thankfully, Sentai Filmworks eventually got the license, and made their own dub of season 2; while everyone from the first season was replaced, Christine Marie Cabanos reprised the role of the titular character.
- Many of their Tokusatsu releases like The Mysterians and Atragon for instance, were supposed to have the original American cuts and dubs of their respected movies. Unfortunately Toho stepped in and denied them permission to use the alternate cuts/dubs and instead only use the more notorious "International dubs".
