  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: With the exceptions of 3 and Infinite (both of which are available on modern storefronts, though 3 had to be rescued from a stint here first), the whole series suffers mightily from this. The only signs of modern releases come in the form of Arcade 1 Up, which have compiled the series in new arcade cabinets (including one that includes all six fighting games up through Marvel vs. Capcom 2, set to release in the fall of 2022), but outside of these costly arcade cabinets there has been no clear sign on the series seeing the light of day without piracy or expensive used copies (which, with the exceptions of the Japan only Saturn ports of X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter and the Dreamcast ports of the first two Marvel vs. Capcom games, tend to be very inaccurate to the arcade originals).
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": As Marvel Comics' namesake medium (comics) were never popular in Japan (the majority of them were never published there, either), this is naturally how people in said nation feel about several Marvel characters when they appear in any Marvel-licensed game made by Capcom. The only ones who avert this are heroes who are really popular to begin with, such as Spider-Man. The same goes for some of the more obscure Capcom picks for fans in the West.
