Trivia / Martin Mystery

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Teryl Rothery voices M.O.M. and voiced M.O.M.'s evil former pupil Octavia Paine in the season three finale.
    • Samuel Vincent also voices both Martin Mystery and Billy.
  • Channel Hop: In the U.S. and English-speaking Canada, it primarily ran on YTV and Discovery Kids (possibly only in Canada?), but also showed up out of the blue on Fox Box. After that block folded, Nickelodeon picked it up and ran it for a bit. If you count the crossover with Totally Spies!, you could say the show was on Cartoon Network too.
  • Disowned Adaptation: Giancarlo Alessandrini, co-creator of the Martin Mystère comic went on record in a 2011 interview disavowing the animated series, defining it as something "very ugly and that nobody liked" and excusing it as a result of compromise determined by the "crisis of the comics" of a "big proposal" to which, despite suffering, "one could say no".
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes:
    • A Season 1 DVD set exists, in Canada, and it's exceedingly rare going for $60-$80 each. Though 4 separate volumes do exist, but they're in French only.
    • An Italian release also exists, but it's two episodes per disc, and many episodes are out of order.
  • Vaporware: Marathon announced plans to do a fourth season, but it seems to have never materialised.
  • Word of God: According to the co-creators:
    • Martin Mystery, Totally Spies!, and The Amazing Spiez! do share the same universe while Team Galaxy is a show-within-a-show in their world.
    • M.O.M.'s real name is Olivia Lombard and is in fact Diana's mother and Martin's stepmother. She just had that part of her family's memory erased so it doesn't get in the way of running the Center and kept in stasis to restore one day.
