- The Original Darrin: This came out two years after The Fuma Conspiracy replaced every major actor. Fan backlash against that meant that the original voice actors from before Fuma returned to their roles.
- Real-Life Relative: Both Goemon's and Isabel's voice actors in the dub are married, as pointed out on Discotek's Blu-Ray release.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: Like Streamline's dub of The Castle of Cagliostro and Manga UK's dub of The Secret of Mamo, the dub changed Lupin's name to Wolf to avoid lawsuits from Maurice Leblanc's estate.
- Technology Marches On: Well, this was made in 1989. Just look at the opening scene.
- The voice cast of Manga UK's dub of The Secret of Mamo returned to give an English dub to this one. This was the second and last time they'd voice in a Lupin dub, though it wouldn't be the last time Manga Entertainment would make a Lupin dub overall.
- What Could Have Been: This special was one of the four specials that Geneon had the rights to dub before they were hit with financial problems. Had they been able to dub this special, then it alongside Cagliostro and Mamo would have had Dueling Dubs with both the Manga UK and "Red Jacket" casts.
