  • Dawson Casting: In the American version, Ashley Greene was 25 at the time of filming (and looks it, compared to her younger co-stars).
  • Playing Against Type: Sophie Marceau was generally known in France for playing romantic drama heroines who had lots of emotional breakdowns and nude scenes, sometimes in conjunction with one another. In this movie, though, she's the worried mother of a rebellious adolescent. Marceau went on to take on broadly similar roles in other French comedies such as Happiness Never Comes Alone (2013).
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: The American remake, and twice. First it was created solely due to a contractual obligation, which had an obvious effect on its quality... and then the finished material was dumped into cinemas without any fanfare or marketing, also due to a contractual obligation.
