Trivia: Joy Electric

  • Black Sheep Hit: "Sugar Rush" and "Drum Machine Joy" (the latter of which is Hilarious in Hindsight, considering Ronnie's refusal to use drum machines in almost all his albums sincenote .)
  • Old Shame: Ronnie consistently cites We Are the Music Makers as his least favorite album. He feels that, underneath the new production techniques, the songs themselves were subpar. Troubled Production also soured him on that album: when the album was over half finished, everything Ronnie recorded was somehow deleted, forcing him to restart from scratch.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The song "The White Songbook" was initially much longer. Ronnie, fearing that the song was too long and boring, cut about half of the song's lyrics—though the unabridged lyrics are included in the album liner notes.
    • Ronnie initially wanted Favorites at Play to be a cover album about the songs Ronnie considered most influential.
