Trivia / Jewelpet: Magical Change

• The Danza:
  • Ari Ozawa as Airi Kirara.
  • Sumire, a one-shot character from episode 9, is voiced by Sumire Morohoshi.
• Dueling Works: With Show by Rock!!, another Sanrio franchise-based anime, which started airing at the same time. SB69 won since it had far more otaku appeal (and a successful mobile game to go along with it), and JPMC wound up getting canned and taking the entire Jewelpet anime series with it.
• Franchise Killer: Though the anime series has always been on life-support, the initially exceptionally poor reception of this season led to its premature end at episode 39, and put a lid on any plans for further televised seasons in the foreseeable future, switching instead to an irregularly released, four-minute long, Flash-animated format with Jewelpet Attack Chance (which itself stopped at 3 episodes).
• Underage Casting: Sumire Morohoshi was sixteen when she voiced the college student Sumire.
