• Screwed by the Network: Despite critical acclaim and high ratings (a must for any Canadian Series that want to make it), CBC cancelled the series after only two seasons. However, the fact that the show has frequently been reran (albeit in the late night hours), combined with leaks of the Republican-held American Ambassador complaining about growing anti-American sentiment in Canada, and a very pro-American Conservative government in power (who had shown to have little regard for the CBC in general) hint that American diplomatic pressure killed the show, not the CBC.
