Trivia / Impossibly Cool Clothes

  • Chances are the Fire Rat Robe in InuYasha is unique; it is based on one of the treasures from "The Bamboo Cutter's Tale" (Taketori no Monogatari), the oldest known literary work in Japanese. In order to avoid unwanted marriages, Kaguya-hime demanded that her suitors perform impossible tasks, such as bringing to her the Buddha's begging bowl, the Dragon King's jeweled necklace, or a robe made from the fur of the Chinese fire-rats, which was actually brought up in the second movie.
