Trivia / Ice-T

  • Banned in China: One of his songs was the first target of the new Hungarian media law.
  • He Also Did - Ice-T is recognized as being one of three things to different audiences: Gangsta Rapper, Heavy Metal singer or actor on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
  • Name's the Same: Home Invasion, released in 1993, included a song called "99 Problems," which included the lyrics "So if you havin girl problems, I'll be there for you son/Got 99 problems and a bitch ain't one - hit it..." ten years before Jay-Z got there.
  • One of Us: He's a pretty big gamer, as evident from his Twitter. And he is rather embarrassed about the GamerGate-inspired episode of Law & Order SVU.
  • Playing Against Type: The founder of the entire genre of Gangsta Rap is now well-known in pop culture for playing a cop on Law And Order: SVU. Ice-T himself has lampshaded the irony of this several times.
  • So My Kids Can Watch: He appeared in Leprechaun in the Hood because his son enjoyed the Leprechaun films (which, to be fair, aren't family-friendly to begin with). He also admitted that making the movie was a fun experience and he has no regrets about doing it.
