  • Colbert Bump: Got a decent bump after The Goldbergs aired, due to them composing the theme song.
  • Cut Song: DEMOlition consists of 12 demos that didn't make it onto KABOOM!. The Future Imperfect also contains several cut songs from The Near Future.
  • Development Hell: On a vlog, Brian told an anecdote of how he made a demo track with Greg Wells that their label at the time loved, and a asked Brian to write a song to it. Each version he came up with was rejected by the label as "not being a hit," eventually going through over 18 versions and 7 co-writers over the next year and a half until all parties involved gave up on the track. Brian's last version, "It's Not Me, It's You" was a very blunt "screw you" to the label for making him rewrite the song so many times.
    • The Music Video to "cRaZie$" experienced some of this, with the band being forced to change effects designers late in production.
