!!1976 Version
* FollowTheLeader: This film inspired a lot of other body switch stories in the 80s.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Dear god, is this movie from the '70s. Most obvious these days is the casual smoking, even around kids.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Jodie Foster was originally going to be cast as Princess Leia in ''Franchise/StarWars'' at a point where George Lucas wanted to make the character significantly younger. Then it was discovered she was still under contract to Disney. Although there may have been a way to break the contract, Foster's mother decided to honour it and she starred in this film instead.
** Jodie Foster also learned how to water ski, training for three days, only to discover that the relevant scenes would be performed in front of green screen - and professionals were to be used as stunt doubles in long shots.

!!1995 Version
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: This is the only direct ''Freaky Friday'' adaptation not available on DVD. Presumably, Disney doesn't consider {{Made For TV Movie}}s high priorities, unless they feature whatever Creator/DisneyChannel star lots of people like at the moment.
