* SerendipityWritesThePlot: Brian Clevinger entered an university class where he would write a 25-page comic. He made it a SpriteComic because he can't draw, and funny so he'd keep interested in writing. And given his teacher barely saw his e-mail, Clevinger was putting it online. Soon he was getting many page hits, and was having fun writing, so the comic became his full-time job for a while.

* {{Jossed}}: After Black Belt's death, many fans were upset and looked for ways to get him back. The most common theory was by reviving the copy of Black Belt that was created by [[MakesJustasMuchSenseinContext Black Belt having such a hopelessly bad sense of direction that time and space folded around itself when he got lost in a single empty hallway on his way to the bathroom. This copy (to simplify matters) was turned to stone by Black Mage and tossed into a toxic lake of Mountain Dew.]] Brian Clevinger eventually got tired of this theory and, a year later, decided to put an end to it in the most horrible way possible. In a strip titled "Now Shut Up", White Mage returns and retrieves the turned-to-stone copy of Black Belt and uses her magic to restore him to life. Problem is part of his head had eroded away in the meantime, causing him to [[OverdrawnAtTheBloodBank instantly and dramatically bleed out.]]

* CreatorBacklash: Near the end of the series' run, the author was fairly open about the fact that he was a bit burnt out on investing so much of his time and effort into a series that (due to copyright issues) he could never really support himself on.
