Trivia / Edgar & Ellen

Go To

  • Died During Production: Rick Carton, creator and artist of Edgar and Ellen, sadly passed away in 2017, effectively dooming the series.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Mischief Manual and Hair 'Em Scare 'Em are no longer in print. The animated series received a DVD release containing the first half, but that is now also out-of-print, and the second half wasn't released at all. Only 6 of the 13 shorts made it onto the two DVD releases as well as only 2 of the 6 holiday specials.
  • Kids' Meal Toy: Edgar & Ellen toys were available at Del Taco during Halloween 2008.
  • The Merch:
    • There were two board games, a calendar, Pet plush toys, and the toys at Del Taco.
    • In October 2007, the Halloween section in Target stores was themed after the characters.
  • Screwed by the Network: According to Drew Scott, one of the writers of the series, a tenth book in the series was finished, with two more planned, but the publisher got cold feet on continuing the series after Split Ends, and legal issues are preventing other publishers from acquiring the rights. Rick Carton's death served to end Edgar and Ellen, altogether.
  • What Could Have Been: There were rumors of a live action movie around 2007, but nothing ever materialized.
