* ActorAllusion:
** In the theme song, Tom is briefly shown wearing a shirt with an WebAnimation/{{asdfmovie}} character. In the Halloween Special, he reads a magazine called Ska. His VA uses Creator/TomSka as [=YouTube=] and Twitter nickname.
** The director of the movie in "Spares" is called Christopher Bingbong (as seen during the movie's end credits). He was voiced by Chris "Bing" Bingham.
* AuthorExistenceFailure: Edd passed away from cancer in March 25, 2012. He left behind the first part of a two-part Eddsworld episode ("Space Face") and possibly a lot of other ideas that will never be seen, including Space Face's original ending.
* CreatorBacklash:
** A minor one, but Creator/TomSka didn't like the way Tord was written off, saying it raised more questions than answers.
** Tom himself also isn't a fan of when he was put as showrunner, feeling he ended up nearly putting Eddsworld on the ground. It got ''worse'' due to the fandom's toxic side getting to him, resulting with him basically leaving the Eddsworld community and even stating he wants ''nothing'' to do with it anymore. Ouch.
* MeanCharacterNiceActor: Tom and Matt are shown to be a bit of {{Jerkass}}es in the show, Tom shown to be very snarky and Matt being very vain. In real life, Tom and Matt are ''nothing'' like that and are known to be pleasant, if friendly people.
* TheOtherDarrin: In "The End", Tord was voiced by Jamie Spicer-Lewis, as opposed to his RL inspiration, Tord Larrson. According to the real-life Tom, getting in contact with Tord (who left the show eight years before) to do voice acting would be near-impossible.
* OutlivedItsCreator: After Edd's death, the series continued with Paul ter Voorde as the lead animator and Tim Hautekiet as Edd's new VA.
* PromotedFanboy: [=SuperSmash3DS=], real name Marc Lovallo, was the artist and occasional writer of a fan comic based on the show called ''Eddsworld Guest Comics''. Come 2013, he's writing and directing the Eddsworld Movie. He got another case of this in 2016, where he and Billy Crinion, a friend of his, were revealed to be working on "The End".
** ''Tom'' was sort of this when Eddsworld was slowly becoming a thing, to the point where Edd made him signed a contract.
* TalkingToHimself:
** Edd, Tom, Matt and their future counterparts in ''[=WTFuture=]''.
** Edd and Larry in ''Spares''.
** Tom's Tales are fully voiced by Tom Ridgewell.
* {{Uncancelled}}: Eddsworld was at least planned to be closed with the episode "The End", however Edd Gould's mother has confirmed through her twitter she has plans to ''actually be the next show runner'', therefore revoking the plans for the series to end.
