Trivia / Digimon Adventure tri. Abridged

Go To

  • Accidental Downer Ending: Thanks to the cancellation happening after the abridged version of "Loss" due to copyright, the story ends with Meiko seemingly dead and Meicoomon becoming Meicrackmon again, ready to wreck havoc once more. Meanwhile, the 02 gang would remain prisoners indefinitely while their older peers screwed up in saving the world.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: With the videos of Digimon Adventure tri. Abridged pulled off of YouTube, the closest thing to a "legal" way of viewing the series on there is...watching reaction videos of people watching the series. Fortunately, this has since been averted.
  • Schedule Slip: Episode 4 went through a 3-4 month delay from it's intended release date at May due to Troubled Production. It was finally released on August 24, slightly ahead of its final promise date.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Like any other abridged series based off of Toei's work, the series was hit with so many copyright strikes that Word of God often stated in tweets regarding it's situation in the latter-half of 2018 as a "copyright minefield". While he stated that Episode 5 was being worked on, the fact that they couldn't even get their already uploaded episodes back online and/or keep it back up for long after re-uploading speaks just how bad the situation with Toei is. Eventually, ProjectMouthwash decided that with the constant risk of copyright strikes, combined with this series and their other Digimon related abridged project generating the least viewership of their works, that it wasn't worth continuing them any further. While they still enjoyed working on both of the series, they officially announced that it was cancelled in July of 2019. When asked why they couldn't change to a different video sharing site while putting up re-direct videos on YouTube, Word of God stated that alternative hosting cannot "suit our needs."
