• Fanwork Ban: While he generally welcomes fanart, and has even had a fanfiction contest or two, he's very stringent on the type of fanfiction he allows - essentially fanart in prose, brief illustrations of events that might be happening between panels. He's repeatedly expressed his disdain for fanfic that "revises" his world. This is due to most fanfictions replacing the main character (Jonathan) with the authors OC (self insert), and practically repeating the exact story already written. Either that or just turning the story into straight up porn, which the author has gone to great lengths to avoid.
• Reality Subtext: Just as a character based on another artist was romancing Joani, that artist was suddenly killed in a car wreck. Cue the Endless Waltz in chapter 15.
