  • Breakup Breakout: Zig-zagged. He was the breakout from his team The Blackharts, but, as described below, was used solely to get Edge and Christian together.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: Metallica's "Holier Than Thou" in ECW.
  • Screwed by the Network: In the shoot interview mentioned under Noodle Incident on the main page, he explained that the Brood was a Vince Russo creation and that Vince McMahon's first question was "Who the hell hired Gangrel?" Despite any good reactions he may have received, McMahon apparently had no real enthusiasm for the gimmick. His and Luna's backstage scrapes with Sable didn't help either. In hindsight, it's pretty clear that the whole purpose of the Brood was getting Edge and Christian together to enable them to eventually break off on their own at Gangrel's expense, which was exactly what happened. In fact, even after Sable and Marc Mero were sent away, neither he nor Luna could get much of a push. To be fair, he admits himself that he was seriously injury prone during his time in WWE and that's a big reason he never got another push. Not to mention...
  • What Could Have Been:
    • When WWE ran their version of ECW, they had planned on bringing Gangrel back in a vampire stable with Kevin Thorn and Ariel, but his weight problems prevented it.
    • He was scheduled to make a one-off appearance in All Elite Wrestling, in which on the August 25, 2021 episode of Dynamite he would save his former Brood stablemate Christian Cage from The Elite, which would possibly lead to him taking part in a match on the following episode of Rampage (Rampage being taped immediately after the live episode of Dynamite). This was canned because of poor timing: At SummerSlam earlier in the week Edge had reverted back to his Brood persona, and AEW did not want to look like they were Following The Leader, so they gave Gangrel's role to Frankie Kazarian instead. Gangrel would finally get an AEW appearance on the ''Double or Nothing 2022' go-home show, as part of The Young Bucks' Hardy Boyz impersonation.
