Trivia / Daily Lives of High School Boys
aka: Danshi Koukousei No Nichijou

The following articles are Trivia concerning the manga and anime Daily Lives of High School Boys:

  • Actor Allusion:
  • Casting Gag: Literature Girl looks like an Aloof Dark-Haired Girl but soon subverts the personality by being shy and awkward. Together with her taste for literary subjects, the casting department must have thought of Mio Akiyama when they cast Yoko Hikasa as her.
  • Fan Nickname
    • Gilgamesh for Yoshitake, on account of his blonde, slicked-back hair.
    • Nichibros, for the entire series.
    • "The Three Baka," Japanese nickname for the main trio.
    • "Stoner-kun" for one of the students.
  • Overtook the Manga: The anime got this treatment due to two factors: (1) the manga's Sketch Comedy format means a whole volume of manga can only produce 3 episodes of anime without padding, and (2) Sunrise did not pad. The anime practically ran out of original material at the last episode; in which they asked the mangaka to draw two skits for the anime (High School Boys and Assertiveness and High School Boys and Getting Hit On) and made two original skits (High School Boys and ... and the faux High School Girls are Funky—The Movie trailer). Of course, being a Slice of Life anime without much of a plot, they simply ended the season by using Bookends.
  • Relationship Voice Actor:
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Word of God mentioned Yoshitake was originally intended to be the viewpoint character.
    • Originally, the anime's ending theme song was Hikizan by Visual Kei Rock band Jinkaku Radio. However, the band's lead singer insulted Yui Horie which caused a controversy that Square Enix pulled their song.
