Trivia: Crank
  • Actor Allusion:
    • One of the characters comments that Chev looks like "that guy from The Transporter movies". That's because he is.
    • Also, when Chev starts to shoot a disabled Mook and the gun clicks empty, he says "You lucky bastard!" This was a reference to Snatch, another Jason Statham movie.
  • Fan Nickname: Some message boards (very few though) have labelled it as Grand Theft Auto: The Movie. Seeing all the carjacking, excessive violence, sex, drugs, and what-not... it seems appropriate.
  • Hey, It's That Guy!:
    • Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell plays Chev's mother in the second movie.
    • Also in the second movie, Q is the news reporter. John de Lancie even uses his Q method of delivery for the bits, so it's almost impossible not to think of it as Q futzing around with history to amuse himself. (It would be one of the least nonsensical things in the sequel.)
    • Several porn stars, including Ron Jeremy, have cameos in the second movie.
    • Sam Witwer has a cameo as a thug in the first movie.
    • Chester Bennington from Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots has a cameo in both movies.
    • You might not recognize Don Kim's face, but Keone Young is an accomplished voice actor, including voice credits for G.I. Joe, Avatar: The Last Airbender , and American Dragon Jake Long.
    • Francis Capra (Weevil) appears as one of the thugs in the first film.
    • Glenn Howerton of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia fame as the male nurse from both movies.
    • Maynard James Keenan (of Tool and A Perfect Circle) and Danny Lohner (also from APC) cameo in the second film as two guys who use a shock collar on their dog. Chelios gets them to use the shock collar on him.
  • Image Source: These films provide the page image for:
  • Throw It In: Amy Smart (Eve) actually had hiccups during the scene in the cafe, and was actually laughing at herself, not knowing that the cameras were rolling.
