  • Adored by the Network: The 2012 Remake got FOUR reruns on SBT and it is(or was?) constantly advertised in the channel.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • When the actor who played Fermin, Augusto Benedico, was no longer available, he was replaced by another one, Armando Calvo, who was and looked 10 years younger.
    • The actress who played Maria Joaquina's mother, Karen Sentíes, was later replaced with Kenia Gazcón.
  • Technology Marches On: In the original, video games were not shown at all- possibly justified, since it took place back in 1989-1990 in Mexico (a second world country). In the remake, Kokimoto's intro features a video game controller.
  • Unisex Series, Gendered Merchandise: The Mexican original version and its 2012 remake are primarily targeted towards both genders but the 2012 remake’s merchandising tend to be more marketed towards girls, this is especially obvious on the toyline with characters such as Valeria and Maria Joaquina getting a lot of focus.
