Trivia / Butt-Ugly Martians

Go To

  • Acting for Two: A necessity with such a small voice cast, as Emperor Bog and Dr. Damage are both voiced by S. Scott Bullock, and 2T Fru-T and Mike are both voiced by Rob Paulsen.
  • Franchise Killer: The franchise's catastrophic failure, alongside buyouts of other companies, led to the Just Group filing for adminstration in January 2002. This would soon turn into many years of arguments and conflicts over Just's fate.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Nickelodeon axed this show almost as quickly as its first (and equally obscure) acquired science-fiction cartoon, The Brothers Flub. All but two of the episodes ("Emperor Damage" and "If The Suit Fits") are available on YouTube. The series has seen three VHS/DVD releases by Universal in the United States, and quite a number of VHS and some DVD releases from Just Entertainment and Abbey Home Media in the UK.
  • Kids' Meal Toy: Burger King sold a set of eight figures as Kids' Meal toys in 2002.
  • Production Posse: Being another cartoon about a trio of heroic Martians, it's no surprise that this show shares voice actors with Biker Mice from Mars. 2T Fru-T and Mike are both voiced by Rob Paulsen (who voices Throttle and Fred the Mutant in Biker Mice from Mars), Angela is voiced by Kath Soucie (who voiced Harley in the Biker Mice from Mars three-part episode "Once Upon a Time on Mars"), and Do-Wah Diddy is voiced by Jess Harnell (who voiced the radio DJ Sweet Georgie Brown, Evil Eye Weevil, and Honka Loogie in Biker Mice from Mars).
  • Rereleased for Free: All of the episodes were officially uploaded online for free, but that didn't last and they were taken down.
  • The Merch: The show had loads of merchandise, all courtesy of the Just Group's focus on this demographic.
  • What Could Have Been: Universal planned to produce a film version of the series but the project ended up being shelved due to Robert Stack's death.
