• Hey, It's That Place!: The ferry is obviously a BC Ferry, markings aside, to anyone familiar with the BC Ferry system. The scenery during the ferry ride will also be very familiar to habitual BC Ferry riders.
  • The scenes in Victoria, especially Fan Tan Alley.
  • The chasing motorcycle cop radios he's in pursuit through Fan Tan Alley.
• Underage Casting: Rick and Marianne are supposed to be ex-hippies (riffing on many of Goldie Hawn's past roles as a hippie flower child) but Mel Gibson, only 34 at the time of the film's production, is too young (and over a decade Hawn's junior, when they're supposed to be close in age).
