Trivia / Autechre

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: The band consider their first two albums, both highly influential and commonly considered their best work, "cheesy."
  • He Also Did: Tri Repetae/Chiastic Slide-era Autechre have not only produced a number of remixes to existing IDM songs but, unexpectedly, have also done the instrumental track to Mari Hamada's "Aire Kawaiya", making it the only song to really stick out of the entirety of her (otherwise not strictly electronic) album, Amu Onna.
  • No Export for You: A considerable portion of Autechre's discography was produced either for compilation albums, or for limited-time releases, or exclusively for the country of Japan. Of the latter, only two are repurposed live recordings (complete with the crowd), the rest is made specifically for Japanese releases. In fact, depending on the line of albums Autechre's releasing, there's more than one exclusive bonus song:
    • "nu-Nr6d" from Quaristice and "Blyz Castl" from Digital Exclusive EP
    • "Xekstes sql" from Oversteps and "ClnChr" from Move of Ten
    • "n Cur" from SIGN and "p1p2" from PLUS
  • What Could Have Been:
    • They were working on a collaboration with Coil sometime in the late '90s—it ended up mothballed partway through.
    • Both Sean Booth, during his second Twitch AMA, and Clark Wen, eventual audio lead, confirmed that the band were initially considered to compose the soundtrack to Metroid Prime. While Nintendo and Retro Studios declined (instead choosing Super Metroid composer Kenji Yamamoto), both band members were thanked in the credits.
