  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Digital releases of the game were disabled in 2018, possibly due to expiring military hardware licenses. While most of the planes return for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown in 2019, the game is delisted anyway and currently isn't available for purchasing apart from third-party key resellers and redeemable unsold physical copies.
  • No Export for You:
    • Inverted. Japanese players are unable to enjoy the PC versions of Assault Horizon, leaving them only the home console versions. However, it's still import-friendly for them.
    • Back the other way around, the Japanese versions are the only ones that got the Macross-themed F-14 paint schemes for that series' 30th anniversary.
  • The Other Darrin: Stagleishov's voice in the European version of the game is different from the U.S. version.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Story author Jim DeFelice revealed on his website that when he was tapped to write the story he was all fired up to do one in Strangereal, the main Ace Combat setting. The Project Aces team had a more realistic story in mind.
    • He also had much more material that he would have liked to fit in to the main campaign, including a mission where players control an F-35B, complete with vertical takeoff and landing sections. This particular mission didn't happen due to technical limitations.
    • Also, he wanted to be able to blow up his house.
