* The blurbs for ''Anime/AnimeGataris'' on Website/{{Crunchyroll}} and Creator/{{Funimation}} spoiled a major late-series twist (the plot slowly building up to an apocalypse) before any clips of the series were even shown. Note that the ad spots and trailers that aired ''after'' this showed nothing out of the ordinary. They at least had the decency to not spoil how the twist happens, though.

** Not only Volume 6's cover blatantly spoils the ShaggyDogStory ending, its summary is so particularly worse to the point that it shamelessly revealed the outcome of Chito and Yuuri's journey to the highest layer. It reads "Chito and Yuuri have arrived at the highest stratum, but their journey will not be over until they reach the very top of the city." It immediately kills off any subtlety about their AllForNothing end journey, which doesn't matter since the cover absolutely tells everything about the outcome in a second.

** Volume 4's summary states "When they finally reach the surface of this new layer of battered city, they discover a mysterious creature that can learn human languages". While it is considered as a minor spoiler, his ability of easily learning human speech significantly spoils everything about him.

** Not only Volume 6's cover blatantly spoils the ShaggyDogStory ending, its summary is so particularly worse to the point that it shamelessly revealed the outcome of Chito and Yuuri's journey to the highest layer. It reads "Chito and Yuuri have arrived at the highest stratum, but their journey will not be over until they reach the very top of the city." It immediately kills off any subtlety about their AllForNothing end journey.

** Promotional material for ''Anime/TheLastNarutoTheMovie'', which takes place between the penultimate chapter of the ''Naruto'' manga and its epilogue, started showing up four months before the manga even ended. As such, it ended up being the first place to reveal that [[spoiler:pretty much everyone lives]] when it showed off their character designs, and because a good deal of the trailers and art showed off the romantic movie's OfficialCouple, gave away that [[spoiler:Naruto and Hinata]] end up together.

** The intro of the first season of ''Anime/PokemonTheSeriesBlackAndWhite'' had the Pokémon not covered in black[[note]]unlike in the Japanese version[[/note]], thus revealing every Pokémon in the intro.
** Merchandise and magazines tend to spoil future captures and evolutions for the cast. One notable reveal, however was that Ash's Frogadier will evolve into Greninja and [[UncattyResemblance Greninja will resemble its trainer]]. While the reveal in the Japanese magazine Corocoro teased the reason why, it was outright stated on the Official North American Pokémon website a mere couple days later.[[note]]Due to the fact there's a 2-3 month gap between a Japanese airing and an international localized airing of Pokémon episodes, the non-Japanese official sites do not normally report on future arcs to be aired in Japan. This only occurred because there was a reveal of new forms for Zygarde, hinting at a new Pokémon version for the 6th generation games.[[/note]]
** Ohatsu showed sreencaps from the upcoming Alola League showed [[spoiler:Ash with the League trophy. While these were initially taken with a grain of salt due to previous events (including the infamous Kalos League finals), this time it was true- he did win at long last.]]

* One of the trailers for the ''Manga/ASilentVoice'' film adaptation spoils the twist near the end that [[spoiler:Shouko tries to [[DrivenToSuicide jump off a balcony]].]]

* Lantis' 5-minute promo for ''[[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya]]'' soundtrack spoiled THE ENTIRE MOVIE, so they had to redo it without spoilers.

* The North American DVD trailer for ''[[{{LightNovel/Slayers}} Slayers Evolution-R]]'' not only features footage from the final episode. ''It features footage from the last '''eight minutes''' of the final episode!!!''

* The previews for the film adaptation of ''[[Anime/{{Metropolis}} Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis]]'' showed scenes from when Tima realized her true potential - to destroy Metropolis.

** The trailer they made for the Season 1 boxset of [[Anime/FullmetalAlchemist the 2003 anime adaptation]] shows various clips from the first 26 episodes. The clips they use to end the trailer on? Maes Hughes' death.

* ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikerS'' has another example of a spoiling soundtrack. The name of Subaru's {{Leitmotif}}? "[[{{Cyborg}} Steel]] Sprinter", a fact that isn't revealed until halfway into the season. Note that the OST with the spoilery track was [[{{Feelies}} packed with the first Japanese DVD volume]], which only had the first three episodes.

* ''Anime/DigimonXrosWars'' usually spoiled its content by releasing preview images of the next part of the story before the previous one aired.

** On the other hand, although the ''Franchise/PrettyCure'' fandom was more-or-less unanimous about [[SixthRanger Cure]] [[Anime/HeartCatchPrettyCure Sunshine's]] identity, there was still some suspense to be had in-show...until the trailer for Episode 23 killed it: the preview footage consisted almost entirely of [[StudentCouncilPresident Itsuki]] transforming into said Cure.

* ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'':
** The intro of the first season of ''Anime/{{Pokemon}} Black and White'' had the Pokémon not covered in black[[note]]Unlike Best Wishes.[[/note]], thus revealing every Pokémon in the intro.

** Before the end of the series, plenty of previews of ''Anime/DigimonXrosWarsTheYoungHuntersLeapingThroughTime'' were released, confirming that Damemon will be revived and become Yuu's partner for good (hasn't happened yet), that Shoutmon being killed off in episode 53 wasn't going to be permanent, and that in ''Young Hunters'' all characters were [[PutOnABus take the bus]] except for Taiki and Yuu.

* In ''Anime/MaiHime'', Episode 15's trailer, after a cliffhanger involving Mai's apparent death, contains a brief shot with Mai in the background while Yukino is ordering food and drinks at the Hime Sentai's karaoke party.

* Anime/SuperDimensionCenturyOrguss: During the early episodes of the series one of the main attractions is that Kei has no idea where he is; the viewer is left to conclude that he must have been thrown into some sort of parallel dimension. One of the first PreviouslyOn reveals that Kei has been thrown twenty years into the future, but he's still on Earth. This is long before we get any clues to that effect (such as Kei coming across artificats from his Earth, such as jeeps, weapons and mecha). In fact this information isn't actually presented within the show until Olsen tells him almost 20 episodes later!
