Toys: Robot Spirits

Launched in 2008, Robot Spirits (also known as Robot Damashi) is a line of Humongous Mecha action figures produced by Bandai of Japan. Borrowing the design philosophy of their proven SH Figuarts line, Robot Spirits uses computer-aided design to produce high quality figures of mecha from popular anime series. The line is divided into different "Sides", each named for the respective show's name for their mecha and focuses primarily on Real Robot series, with a few rare exceptions.

In 2013, the line received a tie-in PlayStation Portable game called Battle Robot Spirits, featuring several figures from the line with some Guest Fighters from the Chogokin line, including the Ideon and UCR-10/A.

Compare Super Robot Chogokin, which is Robot Spirits meets Soul of Chogokin.

Tropes specific to this toyline:

  • No Export for You: Tamashii Web Exclusive ones, including the Tamashii Nation Expo exclusive sets.
  • Real Robot: Robot Spirits cover this genre of anime mecha.
  • Spiritual Successor: to the Mobile Suit in Action! and In Action! Offshoot lines.
  • Units Not to Scale: The line is pretty inconsistent with this. On the one hand, the Gawain towers over the other Knightmare Frames (which is accurate to the show); on the other hand, the line includes a figure of Bonta-kun (a theme park mascot costume turned into Powered Armor), which can rub shoulders with mecha several times its height.
