Tear Jerker: Troy Rising
Near the end of The Hot Gates, after Palencia, Barnett, and Thermal are all killed in action, Palencia's father contacts Dana Parker, and tells her how his son had desired to marry her, and he himself would have approved, even if she wasn't from the right class. He then observes that she's lost the closest thing to a mother and father she's had in a long time, and offers her the hospitality of his home in Chile, practically ordering her to come visit.
