- Writers
- So, you want to write the actual scripts for TV Tropes The TV Show? Head over to this thread
to post a sample of your work. The sample should be of a normal day for the main characters. Of course, you probably want to know more about what you'll be doing...
- There will be a team of writers who will collaborate on scripts. With the samples we have received thus far, each writer has shown clear areas that they are good at...and clear areas they are bad at. By assigning the right scenes to each writer (at least for the first draft), we will attempt to keep strong writing overall.
- When drafts are finished, they are posted for all of the contributors to examine. While contributors cannot request sweeping changes, it is fully expected for contributors to point out how things can be improved, particularly if one of the characters is acting out of character. In order to keep consistent style, it will be the writers themselves who make the revisions.
- There is one exception: character dialects and accents. In order to avoid difficulty with such things, the writers are encouraged to write lines in neutral English in the original draft so that those familiar with the dialect in question can alter the lines appropriately. We have had cases before where the dialects were Flanderized or rendered completely incorrectly, so this is just a measure to prevent that and avoid stressing out the writers over little details that someone else could handle.
- Writers will work from an outline provided by the creative team. If the writers have any suggestions for changes, they should post in the forums instead of making the changes on their own. Writers who ignore the outlines or the established characterization will not be asked to write again. Seriously, don't do it.
- Artists
- At this time we do not have formal procedures for concept artists, but head over to this thread
, and let us know you exist!
- Composers (Music Supervisor: Karalora)
- We encourage people to submit original material for the soundtrack of the show. Nevertheless, we do discourage regular contributors to the soundtrack from composing material for only one or two characters. You can read the full Soundtrack guidelines here.
- Animators
- We are currently looking for talented animators.
- Voice Actors (Casting Director: Some Sort Of Troper)
- At this point, we are looking at more than 40 recurring characters and hundreds of one-shot characters, so it would be great if we could get voice actors who can do more than one voice. Check out The Cast to see which roles are currently available.
