This is the place to go to put information for the benefit of the people who will be writing Season 1 of TV Tropes The TV Show. There should be no extraneous details here about material from later seasons. Also, as this is a writer's resource, there should be no spoiler tags. Of course, this page is currently under development.

Cody
Cody is a tall, fairly broad-shouldered male, Caucasian, with fair hair and hazel eyes. He typically wears plain shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, and blue jeans. He owns a black leather jacket. He is 20 years old.
He is a little brash and quite mockingly sarcastic, often to the point of being a Deadpan Snarker. He also has slight bullying tendencies, as his insecurities and dislike of other people result in him giving his somewhat malicious sense of humour a free rein at times. Really, though, he's just after his teammates' approval. As a general rule, he envies other people, rather than respecting them; he also holds people he perceives to be lesser than himself with a degree of contempt.
Cody hails from Klamath Falls, Oregon, and speaks with a Pacific Northwest accent. He speaks no other languages, other than a few phrases of high school German.
Cody is, in theory, a fundamentalist Christian, but in practice his religion seldom influences his behaviour much. It's not something he often gives much thought to, but it does influence his perception of morality. He is well-intentioned and generally wishes to do the right thing, but increasingly finds himself unsure what the right thing is.
He has anger management problems, which stem from a repressive upbringing. He suppresses his emotions most of the time, but can sometimes snap unexpectedly at seemingly minor annoyances, in a wave of pent-up stress which can be quite alarming to observers. At these times, he can be quite unreasonable.
At the start of the series, Cody fights Fictites out of a desire to put things right and help the victims of Fictites, and - while he won't admit it - to avenge his parents, who are presumed dead. He has not really put further thought into what he does.
Cody would be unlikely to discuss his past much at this stage. Mostly he would talk about how he misses his hometown, Klamath Falls, which was devastated by Fictites.
Cody's power is to perpetually generate a Weirdness Censor field surrounding himself. This means that, so long as he isn't expected and doesn't draw attention to himself, he can stand right in front of somebody and they won't notice him. This isn't so much a super power as a property which Cody possesses; he can't switch it off. This means that he will usually be overlooked by the other characters that the Tropers meet, and that characters whom the team met before will usually remember the others but not Cody. Particularly self-centred characters may forget that he exists even when he's standing right next to them, unless he speaks to them directly. Animals and robots tend to be affected just as strongly as human beings by this power.
Cody's power makes him an efficient spy. It also gives him the ability to administer surprise attacks on enemies which can turn the tide in battle; however, doing this to an adversary of human-like intelligence conflicts with Cody's principles slightly, so he will attempt to attract their attention a moment before striking. Perhaps the most notable aspect of Cody's ability is the fact that he hates it, and while he makes use of it for the sake of missions, he otherwise regards it as a nuisance.
Cody's power is also not flawless. While he is generally undetectable, he will draw the attention of others if he moves an object that's within their field of vision, or if he makes a loud sound.
In addition to his power, Cody is generally competent in combat, both with his fists and with a weapon such as a knife or baton. He is a good shot with a rifle, although he seldom makes use of it, since there is a shortage of bullets.
Cody is athletic, sporty and outdoorsy, and is very capable in terms of finding food in the wild, as well as making fire and cooking. He is also a competent driver and a skilled vehicle mechanic, and owns a motorcycle. He enjoys watching movies, and is also decently familiar with television dramas and sitcoms. For the most part, he is rather poor at video games, FPSes being the only games that can hold his interest; however, he does have good reflexes in general. His singing voice is terrible, and playing classic rock, country rock and grunge songs in his presence is extremely inadvisable for this reason.
As of the start of the series, Cody is generally friendly towards Ironeye and arks. He is attracted to Murky, and will tend to show off around her in an attempt to impress her, without success. He behaves in a polite and gentlemanly manner around Karalora, aware that she would be difficult to intimidate if she was ever in opposition to him; she is the only member of the team that he sincerely respects. Cody's behaviour around Hikari is condescending at best, and mocking at worst. He dislikes Matrix, who among the team seldom notices Cody's existence, something which Cody attempts to change by constantly putting Matrix down, obstructing him at every opportunity and generally acting like a jerk towards him.
Over the course of the series, Cody's attitude towards the other characters will develop. His attitude towards Ironeye will become increasingly resentful as time goes on, although he will feign nonchalance and maintain civility, and will also frequently show off and agree with Ironeye's suggestions in the hope of gaining his approval. His friendship with arks will also grow over time, with the two joking around a lot. Cody will also lose romantic interest in Murky early in the series, and develop a tendency to snark about her coldness from time to time.
Hikari no Kaze Ironeye
Notes in hottips refer to information not revealed in S1.
Ironeye: 5'9" (1.75 m); 146 lbs. (66 kg); 25 years old; light brown, straight hair that's a bit too short to get in the way of his eyes; brown eyes; ambiguously light brown skin; no distinguishing physical characteristics otherwise—yes, he pretty much has the generic everyman appearance.
Ironeye typically wears cargo shorts/pants and a t-shirt, cool colors only (as opposed to warm colors). He avoids hats, glasses, and sandals if at all possible. Jewelry is right out. When on missions, Ironeye will wear pants for the extra pocket space, and will also typically bring along at least one waterproof jacket. He also often brings along a backpack with extra supplies. Between his pants, his jacket, and his pack, he has cameras (video and still), binoculars, a notebook, a ton of snacks, supplies for taking samples, a small med-kit, several maps, emergency supplies, backup radios, and at least one book to read when he's bored. He also wears a watch—it's on his left wrist because he's right-handed.
Ironeye is one of the the few members of the team with a bit of an intellectual bent. He is prone to talking at great length (and sometimes at notable speed) about the nuances of some minor point in a conversation, but is not at all offended if someone interrupts and politely asks to return to the main point—he understands that people often won't share his enthusiasm. Ironeye tends to be rather oblivious to his surroundings, and can frequently be seen talking to himself whenever he walks somewhere, gesturing with his hands.
For all of his enthusiasm at intellectually stimulating conversation (or monologuing), Ironeye never seems particularly emotional, especially when there is urgent business at hand. Unlike Murky, though, he still comes of as fairly warm, just distant. He tries to act as the voice of reason whenever any of his companions get worked up about something, and he is completely willing to be blunt with them about what he sees as the actual state of things.
Ironeye is fairly cynical compared to the rest of the team, and frequently suggests Shooting the Dog, though not as often as Murky because she is the icier of the two. He is a firm believer in making his own justice and such, because even if there were a higher plan, it would certainly be an ineffable one. As to what "justice" is beyond just a word...you might want to let him get back to you on that one, hopefully some time before he dies of old age—he's rather unsure about, well, everything involving moral judgments.
When asked about his past, Ironeye will cheerfully go into detail about his life in the suburbs of LA before C-Day. On C-Day itself, he and his father made their way out of Hollywood, until they were separated by rampaging fictites. Ironeye was injured and found by Karalora—he credits her with saving his life, displaying a notable level of devotion to her. He will talk a bit about the adventures they had after C-Day, driving around and helping people...well, more like Karalora helping people and Ironeye covering their escape if unsavory types took notice. He also ran into his family at some point later, but he won't say why he decided to stay with Karalora.*
While Ironeye will give a friendly smile to any team member he runs into, he won't engage in idle conversation with them unless they talk to him first. If any of them have any major issues, he is willing to help them, but only if they talk directly to him about it; he usually responds cheerfully to any questions directed at him. When helping people, he is likely to choose a course of action that he thinks is best regardless of what the other person actually wants, usually leading to him working behind their back to get things done.
Ironeye speaks in a California accent, with all of the funny vowel business and abuse of like, dude, and all that you would expect. He also tends to gesture a lot when he speaks, especially when speaking to himself (either out loud or internally). A particular quirk of his is to toss the word yeah around a lot. Ironeye's Catch Phrase is "Good to know"...and he actually means it—he treats information of almost every kind as inherently valuable. If Ironeye had to choose a favorite facial expression, it'd certainly be the smirk, though he more often sports a subdued smile.
Ironeye's weapons of choice are a 9mm Glock 17 taken from the body of a dead LAPD officer in the aftermath of the Convergence, a bolo knife[[hottip:*eventually sometimes a pair]], and his fists (in reverse order of preference). Though Ironeye only uses the gun in emergencies, preferring to stay out of combat, he does carry several extra magazines in his pack, just in case—given the rather widespread use of that firearm, extra magazines aren't incredibly difficult to come by.
Ironeye's Convergence-granted ability is heat transfer. Through intense concentration, Ironeye is able to transmit a small of amount of heat between himself and an area, but his true power isn't unleashed until he feels a strong negative emotion. When he feels hate, his body absorbs the heat in the air around him for transmission, while anger unlocks his ability to pull heat from a distant location, through his body, and into his surroundings. Whenever he feels either emotion particularly strongly, he has to either siphon or project heat in order to keep his body temperature from entering dangerous levels. If he absolutely needs to, he can push the rate of transmission into the danger zone, effectively "overclocking" himself. Since he risks serious harm doing this, he generally tries to manipulate his emotions to temporarily expand the safe limits rather than pushing himself.
Ironeye typically reads a book during his off-hours, though he will often spend time with Karalora or Matrix. After Hikari shows up, he tends to hang around Hikari a lot—see the relationship entry for more details there. Ironeye will almost never voluntarily spend time with Murky, as he's afraid that she hates him. Ironeye is also up for games of strategy with anyone, especially chess, even though he isn't particularly good at any of them. Otherwise, he'll lean on something and listen to the conversation, rarely contributing unless he has a large load of exposition to deliver.
On the team, Ironeye functions as Kara's adviser and second in command. Whenever trouble comes up on the team's route, he speaks with the team's contacts to gather all relevant information and prepare a report for Kara on his legal pad. In general, he's the one who gives the background information before a mission, while Kara is the one who comes up with a plan of action. Additionally, Ironeye tries his best to keep up on publicly available knowledge about the Convergence and the Fourth Wall, as well as interviewing all Empowered he comes across in an attempt to find a pattern behind their powers.
Ironeye generally finds himself torn between two or more of his motivations:
Karalora
Karalora is a human female, almost painfully ordinary in appearance—medium height, chunky build, brown hair and eyes, glasses—but quite keen of intellect. She is in her early thirties.
She has no fashion sense to speak of and usually wears jeans (or slacks) with a tee-shirt or polo shirt. On missions, she trades the jeans for cargo pants—she can carry an entire first-aid kit in the pockets, plus a few more useful items. Also on missions, she pulls her hair back into a simple ponytail to keep it out of the way.
Personality-wise, Karalora is a Deadpan Snarker and a Mama Bear. She loves her teammates with the fierce love of family, and accordingly, she acts as the Team Mom, seeing to the team's physical needs, keeping things generally organized, and outright taking charge if need be. She prefers to multi-task, to the point where she gets twitchy if she doesn’t have at least two things to do at once.
Karalora doesn't usually volunteer information about her past, but she will provide it willingly if asked. She lost all her family and friends in the Convergence, and spent the next few days in a (pre)-Heroic BSOD until she snapped herself out of it. She had the idea to ally with friendly fictites, but didn’t get very far before meeting Ironeye. Any part of their shared backstory that he is willing to talk about, she is too—conversely, if he isn't willing to talk about it, she refrains out of respect for his privacy.
The Convergence granted Karalora Healing Hands, though this power is not an infallible cure-all—she needs to be in a state of calm in order to use it (which can be difficult given the strong emotions she feels for her usual targets), and for anything worse than a superficial injury, she can only heal it about halfway every day. She backs it up with good old-fashioned first aid and home remedies. When she uses her healing power, her hands glow a faint blue-green.
How Karalora reacts to most people depends on her mood of the moment. Her default is reasonably friendly but slightly impatient, because she can usually think of something she "should" be doing. When the other Tropers have been unusually slobby lately, her Deadpan Snark is turned up to eleven and may damage the sensitive.
When not on a mission or keeping the base in order, Karalora can usually be found in her vegetable and herb garden. Others are welcome to hang out with her there, as long as they don’t touch anything but weeds. She also likes to spend quiet time with Matrix (in his Skitty form) or with Ironeye.
Karalora speaks with a mild California accent that becomes more pronounced when she is excited. If she doesn't have enough to do with her hands, she tends to run one or both of them through her hair.
Matrix
Matrix is a pink-haired Bishōnen catboy of 5'8", 130lbs. His hair is somewhat thick, and covers his forehead. It goes down to mid-neck in the back. All around, it tends to curl at the ends. He does not have human ears, instead having pink feline ears on his head. As for his eyes, the outer 75% of his irises are green, while the remaining inner 25% of them are brown. His canine teeth are longer than a normal Human's. He has a slim build fitting of his felinity. He doesn't have human nails on his feet or hands, instead, he has retractable cat claws. Right above his buttocks there is a pink-furred feline tail. His attire is simple: A pink t-shirt, blue jeans with a belt, and white sneakers. In Skitty form he just looks like your average Skitty, except for a noticeable tuft of fur on top of his head.
As for his personality, he generally acts feline. He usually keeps his distance between himself and the others, if he's not doing anything else. When he is with the others, he's probably fooling around with Ironeye or trying to talk to Murky. On that note, he has a major crush on Murky, and has no qualms about stating that fact. However, her constant rejection of him due to her allergies is secretly making him depressed and angry. Sometimes, this shows through, and he starts to be act like an angry cat, sitting alone in a corner, hissing at anyone who comes near, and scratching those who don't heed the warning. When in Skitty form, he likes to do cute cat things, like play with yarn, or just curl up in somebody's (usually Karalora's) lap for cuddles, pets, and scritchies. He is also very energetic and optimistic. These tendencies make him The Chick of the team. In Skitty form, his place in the dynamic changes to Team Pet. Sometimes he just flat out disappears, usually around mealtimes... This is where his feline instinct starts to really kick in. When he disappears around mealtime, he's hunting. If he can catch something big like a deer, he might even bring it back to camp for a nice venison dinner. Usually, however, he just catches a rabbit or two and eats those. He also likes to say "Nyaaaaaa!~" a lot. Not every sentence, mind, but frequently.
Matrix likes himself. Matrix really likes himself. If he finds a mirror, expect him to be distracted by it for at least 10 seconds.
His Convergence-granted abilities include feline instincts and reflexes, so, for example, he always lands on all fours from drops the others probably wouldn't want to take. He also has feline night vision. His main power, though, is his ability to Transform
Murky Muse
Murky Muse is a young woman of 5'5" (165.1 cm) and 110 lbs. She has brown hair that is kept above her shoulders and Blue Eyes. Her outfits tend to have a blue theme; the most common being tan cargo pants, a blue sleeveless shirt (Badass Longcoat added in colder weather), a holster vest or belt to carry weapons, and combat boots. When not in the field Murky Muse wears either cargo pants or blue jeans, nicer shirts, and lacks most her weapons.
At first Murky Muse seems to be an Emotionless Girl; quiet, cold, and stoic. She is practical and pragmatic and has no issue suggesting to Shoot the Dog. However, chances are she won't go through with it. As much as Murky Muse claims to be only trying to find her parents, she secretly has a softer side that doesn't mind helping others- basically she tries to be True Neutral but will lean to Neutral Good. She is extremely protective of anyone those she considers Nakama. She has some interesting quirks of being a Picky Eater, Covert Pervert, and Yaoi Fangirl that occasionally show up. Murky Muse is also allergic to cats but never brings up the fact- only avoiding the resident Skittyboy.
In contrast to her reserved personality Murky Muse is oddly open about her past; mostly because she hopes to find her parents, who may or may not be alive. When the Convergence happened, her family was on a cruise ship for vacation. The ship was attacked by the kraken, and Murky Muse was separated from her parents. She only managed to survive being thrown into the sea with the monster thanks to her new powers.
Murky Muse's C-day granted power is hydro-kinesis. She can only use water that is available to her (no Elemental Baggage). When there is enough water Murky Muse is capable of creating water spouts and tsunamis. Murky Muse is also a very capable fighter; martial arts has been a hobby of hers since she was young, and her ability has increased due to real life or death experiences. Her Weapon of Choice is a naginata (she keeps other weapons too; it's just her favorite).
Murky Muse treats other tropers whom she has no close connection to with quiet politeness. During her off time Murky Muse can either be found reading, cleaning her weapons, or occasionally hanging out with the others.
Being from the Deep South, Murky Muse has a mild southern accent. She constantly uses "ya'll", "fixin to", and "I reckon". Some other phrases are used occasionally. She also knows just enough spanish to get basic ideas (what time is it? how do you get to X town? there's a fictite attacking!) across.
