Trivia / My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic S1 E4 "Applebuck Season"

• Defictionalization: One fan tried Applejack's recipe, replacing the earthworms with gummy worms. Apparently it's perfectly edible (for humans at least). Then another did it with real worms. Obviously, those didn't turn out so well.
• Executive Meddling: Applejack was originally going to ram her head into trees to perform "applebonking", resulting in the story being more about Applejack going through head trauma. Needless to say, Hasbro really did not like this premise, so Applejack developed her now-characteristic "applebucking" and the plot was more centered around her sleep deprivation. Proof executive meddling is not always a bad thing. (Kicking the trees instead of headbutting them also makes more sense, since horses have a great deal of strength in their hind legs. Which is also why you should never stand behind a horse.)
• First Appearance: Of the Apple family dog, Winona.
• The Merch: The "baked bads" inspired a T-shirt which also has a Shout-Out to another show, Breaking Bad, which involves "baked bads" of another type.
• What Could Have Been: In the leaked script, Big Macintosh says nothing but "Eeyup" and "Nope", which is more consistent with his behavior in the rest of the series. The script also calls Applejack's dog "Jackeroo" instead of Winona.
