  • "Left Brain, Right Brain":
    • A subtle one at the beginning of the song: the computer/doctor refers to Bo as "Patient 24602."
    • When introducing himself, Right Brain says that he cried for "at least an hour" after watching Toy Story 3.
    • Right before both halves of Bo's brain are put back together, Right Brain tells Left Brain that he loves him; Left Brain replies, "I know." It's a reference as much as it is a final nod to his logical character, and how he can only acknowledge and analyze feelings instead of show them.
  • "Words Words Words":
  • From the "One Man Shows" segment of "Smeagol having sex with a black chick": "Oh, precious!"
  • From "Love Is...": "I love ya like Dora loves maps".
  • "Art Is Dead" namedrops comedian George Carlin, namely stating that he would be ashamed of what entertainment (and Bo's work) has come to.
  • Bo has styled various works of his after Kanye West.
    • The finale of Make Happy is designed after the rant Bo saw when he saw one of Kanye's performances on the Yeezus Tour, and notably lifts the strings from the outro of "Runaway".
    • In an interview, Bo admitted to being so inspired by the lighting setup for his Saint Pablo Tour that he stole it — and he used those words — for the setup of Chris Rock's Tamborine special, which he directed.
