Series: The Frugal Gourmet
The Frugal Gourmet was a Cooking Show hosted by Jeff Smith that began in Tacoma, Washington in 1973 and ran on PBS from 1983 to 1997. As the name implies, the show was intended to help people cook inexpensivelynote . The show ended shortly after seven male ex-employees sued Smith, alleging that he had sexually assaulted them.

This Work Shows Examples of the Following Tropes:

  • Crossover: Jeff Smith made a few appearences on the Letterman show, in this episode he even almost out-Lettermans Letterman as he cooks a beef tongue.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Blue shirt, dark tie, pinstriped apron, and jade fish pendant.
  • One I Prepared Earlier: He had two ovens, one atop the other, and would pop the dish he had prepared into the one and then take one he prepared earlier out of the other.
