Steve Sullivan (Steve Byrne) has everything together. He's a successful lawyer living in New York and has a beautiful fiance. However, on a trip back home to Pittsburgh, he gets some bad news. His parents, Irish-American father Jack and Korean mother Ok Cha, have decided to sell the family bar and retire. Steve, in an act that surprises everybody, decides not to let the bar go and (against his now-ex-fiance's wishes) quits his job in New York, buys the bar from his parents and runs it himself. He now has to learn to deal with the cast of crazies that make up the bar's regulars.
Aired on TBS for three seasons from June 2012 to July 2014.

- Asian Rudeness: Ok Cha is one part Asian Store-Owner, one part Tiger Mother. When her daughter gives her a fake ID to age her up so she can take advantage of senior-citizen discounts, she jokingly gives her the name "Kim Jong Il." Ok Cha is flattered.
- Susan’s husband is every bit as condescending as Ok-Cha, which is probably why Ok-Cha adores him.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Owen, if you sleep with his mother. This is his Berserk Button.
- Steve when he gets competitive. Specifically when he coaches hockey.
- Big Eater: In "Sullivan's Travels", Melanie is revealed to secretly be this, and it's shown that if she didn't have Steve to vent her feelings about work to, she'd be obese.
- The Cast Show Off: Owen Benjamin's piano playing more than once, ignoring the simple fact that it's a sitcom starring no less than four professional stand up comics.
- Cool Old Guy: Jack. Hank has his moments.
- Dad the Veteran: Jack met Ok-Cha when he was a Marine, while stationed in South Korea.
- Deadpan Snarker: Many characters
- The Dreaded: Played for laughs, but everyone is afraid of Ok Cha.
- Family Business: The bar.
- Formerly Fit: In "Sullivan's Travels", Melanie has become an obese glutton, having lost her usual slender figure due to turning to comfort food to deal with work stress.
- Gilligan Cut: Often done without a cut.
- When Ok-Cha wants to set Steve up with a Korean girl, the guys look up her online dating profile and comment on her beauty. Steve insists that she can't be as hot as her pictures. Cue gorgeous Korean chick behind him asking for Steve.
Steve: Holy shit, you're just as hot as your pictures!- After punching her Covert Pervert neighbor, Melanie smugly declares that she doesn't need a lawyer. The cops walk in.
Melanie: Steve, I need a lawyer! - Hen Pecked Husband: Jack and Roy.
- Idiot Savant: Owen, who's dumb until he plays the piano.
- Innocent Bigot: Hank.
- Insane Troll Logic: Hank gets diagnosed with glaucoma. He comes to the conclusion that his doctor somehow caused it on the basis that he didn't have it when he went in and had it when he left.
- It's a Wonderful Plot: In "Sullivan's Travels", when Steve decides to "check out" from all the pressures of running the bar, he has a "teaching dream" where his father shows him what would happen if he wasn't around.
- Lampshaded Double Entendre: Carol often does this.
- Manchild: Owen.
- Marriage of Convenience: Ok Cha says she married Jack primarily as a way to better her life. She didn't properly fall in love with him until many years later when she saw him carry an injured Steve home and realized that she picked a genuinely good man.
- Mighty Whitey and Mellow Yellow: Jack and Ok Cha, although she is as far from "mellow" as humanly conceivable. Gender flipped with Steve, as both his love interests were white.
- Obnoxious In-Laws: Susan's husband, Jason.
- Only Sane Man: Steve.
- Sometimes his dad, such as the episode where Steve becomes the new hockey coach.
- Parental Incest: Exaggerated in subtext whenever Owen and Carol's relationship is focused on.
- Really Gets Around: Carol yet again.
- Sinister Minister: Father Perry, somewhat subverted, as he only deals marijuana to Roy and others in the bar.
- Slap-Slap-Kiss: Hank and Roy's mother.
- The Unfavorite: Susan to Ok Cha.
