No, he did not. How did I miss this edit? That quote was taken completely and utterly out of context, by - who would've guessed - Dipshit Direct. The *actual* foreword pretty specifically singles out movies and series that came BEFORE the MCU, NOT adjacent. Fox movies, Sony movies, animated series, etc.

After the release of ''Film/AvengersEndgame,'' the shows' canonical status was left up in the air until 2023, when the official guidebook ''Marvel Studios: The Marvel Cinematic Universe — An Official Timeline'' would declare that ''Agents of Shield'' and all of the ''Infinity Era'' Marvel TV shows were [[CanonDiscontinuity non-canon]] AlternateTimelines. However, Creator/KevinFeige stated in the book that it's possible for them to be merged back into the main MCU canon in the future.

After the release of ''Film/AvengersEndgame,'' the shows' canonical status was left up in the air for both fans and at Marvel Studios, and it continues to be as of 2023. The reason for this is because seasons six and seven appear to contradict the MCU's timeline, as the writers had almost no heads-up on ''Endgame''’s events to preserve the secrecy of the film; instead choosing to make an original story, rather than predict what the events of ''Endgame'' were. As such, it has the distinction of being one of two MCU shows to not be a part of the timeline section on [=Disney+=], not to mention being listed under the "Marvel Legacy" banner with other non-MCU Marvel works such as the ''X-Men'' film franchise and Sam Raimi's Film/SpiderManTrilogy. It's unclear if the show is CanonDiscontinuity, or if it's going to be adapted in BroadStrokes later on, especially since ''Series/WandaVision'' and ''Film/DoctorStrangeInTheMultiverseOfMadness'' both prominently feature the Darkhold; a very big part of this shows' fourth season.

It's not that weird that when one retires, another gets the codename. Take Hawkeye, for example.

After the release of ''Film/AvengersEndgame,'' the shows' canonical status has been up for debate among fans ever since, and part of that is because ''Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'''s sixth and seventh seasons appear to contradict the MCU's timeline (due to the writers not having much of a heads-up on Endgames' events; they chose to make an original story, rather than predict what the events of ''Endgame'' were.), and it has the distinction of being one of two MCU shows to not be a part of the timeline section on [=Disney+=], not to mention being listed under the "Marvel Legacy" banner with other non-MCU Marvel works such as the ''X-Men'' film franchise and Sam Raimi's Film/SpiderManTrilogy.
