Class B begins as Ms. Chono walks in. She announces a surprise inspection of the class, tempting out their desks and bags onto the desk for her to look at. Yugi and Jonouchi are immediately on alert while Honda goes completely blank and runs the gamut of emotions as Ribbon finds a bow-wrapped box in her desk that wasn't there yesterday. The teacher inwardly revels in their panic and terror as she goes down the aisles. Eventually, she arrives at Ribbon's desk and inquires about the present, to which Ribbon replies she knows nothing. Ms. Chono promptly rips the gift open and looks at its contents; upon finding it's a jigsaw puzzle, she quickly begins assembling it on the front desk and reading its message out loud, declaring it silly. The class laughs at the corny message, except of course for Yughi, Jonouchi, Honda... and Ribbon, quietly crying from embarrassment.

Later, Honda builds up the nerve to ask Ribbon out directly, only to be turned down. Afterwards, Jonouchi offers to buy him a hamburger to cheer him up as the friendship between the three of them is cemented.

With most of the puzzle put together, Ms. Chono demands the one who gave it to her step forward, as it's forbidden by school policy to date underage and "this puzzle is a date waiting to happen." She claims she may forgive the sender if he confesses, though inwardly she has no such plans. Hoping to spare Ribbon further, Honda stands up... [[IAmSparticus and so do Yugi and Jonouchi]]; Yugi claims he wrote the message, Jonouchi claims he put it in her desk, and Honda refuses to sit back down and claims it's his message in that puzzle. Ms. Chono is instantly confused by ''three'' confessions and insists someone is lying, which Jonouchi denies. She, however, quickly comes up with how to reveal the true culprit: finish the puzzle, as the only pieces not yet in place are the ones with Honda's name ([[BondVillainStupidity with her desire to crush their spirits apparently too great to consider just looking over those pieces alone or stopping when the first letter of the name shows 'H']]), declaring the one whose name is there will be expelled, what he deserves for lying to the teacher, "the goddess of the classroom."

School is out at Domino High, and Yugi is on his way home when he gets called over by Jonouchi. He's accompanied by Honda (who hasn't appeared since the first chapter), who gives him a glare. Yugi doesn't like him very much either, since he makes him carry his stuff and buy dirty magazines for him. Jonouchi, however, wants to discuss an idea with Yugi, over Honda's objections that Yugi might have a grudge. After swearing Yugi to secrecy, Jonouchi informs him that Honda has a crush on Miho "Ribbon" Nosaka, the student librarian in their class, despite her being way out of his league. Nevertheless, he asks for Yugi's help in coming up with a present he could give her to get her attention, thinking that the store's stock of "all sorts of weird stuff" might be the ticket. Yugi wonders and decides they need to check with Grandpa Mutou.

They go to the game store and inform Grandpa of the situation. Thankfully, he has the perfect thing in mind: a blank jigsaw puzzle where a message can be written before being broken up and given to someone, where the words then appear piece by piece as they're assembled. Jonouchi laughs at the idea of Honda with it, but Honda himself finds it the perfect thing and buys it immediately. However, he's quickly locked up on what he should write, having never written a love letter before. Thus he delegates the task of actually writing it to Yugi, putting his hand to the heart so he knows what passion he needs to communicate followed by threatening to kill him if she turns him down. Having never written one of them himself, Yugi stays up all night writing the love jigsaw. Once finished, he breaks it up and wraps it a proper present, bringing it to school the next day with a loud yawn.

The three decide to deliver the present to Ribbon by sneaking it into her desk an hour before class. Jonouchi is the one to put the actual gift in the actual desk.

Elsewhere in the school, Ms. Chono walks the halls. Two students discuss amonst themselves how she is a babe, but how she also expelled fifteen students in the last six months alone, earning her the nickname "The Wicked Witch of Expel." She encounters the vice principal, who asks about how her formal date went last night; after informing him it didn't work out, she promptly excuses herself.

In class B, more students have assembled, including Ribbon, who has yet to notice the present in her desk. Anxious for the situation to just resolve itself already, Honda is blushing beet red and making himself as small as possible.

Ms. Chono's fist breaks a mirror in the woman's restroom, the teacher freshly angry after being reminded of last night. She was planning to dump him all along, as her hobby is to "trample the hearts of the drips in the world," but she was denied that pleasure as he dumped her in spite of her "beauty." She calms down enough to reapply her already large amount of makeup, coming up with a way to blow off some steam before the stress oils up her skin.

Sadistically, she counts out loud as she slowly puts the pieces in one by one. As Honda quietly bids his friends farewell, the puzzle shines... The other Yugi mentally chastises the teacher for wounding both Honda and Ribbon's souls by dragging their secrets out into the open and uses the power of the Millennium Puzzle to turn the jigsaw puzzle into a Shadow Game. Ms. Chono finishes the puzzle and starts to declare the name of the person to be expelled... but is interrupted by her thick layers of makeup turning into jigsaw pieces and falling off, revealing her true ugly face underneath to the students. As the class buzzes, the other Yugi thinks on no amount of makeup can cover her ugly nature. Exposed, the teacher flees the classroom, declaring the class never happened and swearing revenge on anyone who tells her secret. Yugi returns to normal, confused that class is now over.

Later, Honda builds up the nerve to ask Ribbon out directly, only to be turned down. Afterwards, Jonouchi offers to buy him a hamburger to cheer him up as the friendship between the three of them is cemented.
