When the planets align every 1,000 years, the Shen Gong Wu gain sentience and come together to form Mala Mala Jong.

  • Be the Ball: The episode ends with Omi using the Emperor Scorpion to disassemble the Fearsome Four, but first, he has them play a game of basketball with Jack as the ball.
  • The Bus Came Back: Mala Mala Jong returns with more Shen Gong Wu forming his body.
  • Depraved Dwarf: One of Jack’s Ring of the Nine Dragons clones is even shorter than Omi.
  • Fat Bastard: One of Jack’s clones is chubby.
  • Four Is Death: Mala Mala Jong uses the Ring of Nine Dragons to split into four demonic warriors.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: During the showdown, one of the remaining Jongs uses the Orb of Tornami, a water Shen Gong Wu against Omi, the dragon of water. Omi uses it to his advantage.
  • Once an Episode: The monks and fearsome four compete in "Last to fall wins" showdown. The monks wager the Falcon's Eye against the Mala Mala Jong's Orb of Tornami. Clay takes down one of the Jongs. Another Jong bumps into Raimundo taking them both down. The two remaining Jongs take down Kimiko and Clay, but not before Clay tells Omi to grab the rope in front of him. Kimiko illuminates the arena with her fire element allowing Omi to see the Jongs. One of the Jongs uses the Orb of Tornami which thanks to Kimiko's fire power comes out as steam. Omi turns the steam into water to knock down the two remaining Jongs.
  • Shout-Out: The title of this episode is a reference to The Empire Strikes Back.
  • Villain Forgot to Level Grind: It doesn't seem this way at first, with the Fearsome Four having defeated the main characters, aside from Omi's arrogance being Flanderized to a level that was never reached before nor does it happen again. But even when the warriors try fighting the Fearsome Four together, they are still defeated. Turns out it was simply a case of Worf Had the Flu - the warriors later use their elemental powers wisely and defeat the Fearsome Fourt with almost no trouble, even without any Shen Gong Wu that they could use offensively. Remember when they fought one Mala Mala Jong who nearly defeated them and only won because Omi took out his power source? Now, the warriors can defeat four of them, using powers and abilities they didn't have the first time. They didn't even aim for the Heart of the Jong or the Ring of the Nine Dragons this time.
  • Visual Pun: One of Jack's clones is a donkey. In other words, a jackass.
