Captain Fuller: I've been told that we'll return just before fall semester.
Ioki: Excuse me Captain, you said you were told we're coming back? But you didn't say we are coming back for sure?
[Beat]
Ioki: Are we coming back?
[Beat]
Captain Fuller: I don't know.

Summer is coming. Hanson is undercover in a high school to find a student who keeps blowing up toilets there. While Hanson is undercover, he finds out another student is living in the school's attic because he's homeless but desparate to graduate. That student has a search warrant out for him, so now Hanson is torn between his police duty (having to arrest the boy immediately) and the boy's pleas to let him graduate because if he'd end up in prison before that, he wouldn't get an education.

Meanwhile, Fuller tells the Jump Street team that their team might be dismantled in the fall, and that everyone should go look for other jobs within the police force. Judy finds a new job in P.R., but soon finds out the job isn't what it was portrayed to be.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Callback: Fuller says, when he has to justify the Jump Street program getting its budget: "In the past 18 months we have arrested dope dealers, gun runners, prostitution rings, child pornographers...!". This describes specific stuff that indeed happened in the preceding Season 1 and 2 episodes. In particular, the last two examples refer to the "Bad Influence" and "16 Blown to 35" episodes respectively.
  • Cliffhanger: In this episode (the ending of Season 2) the team are told that Jump Street will be dismantled, and they all go find other jobs. It's unclear both In Universe and to the viewer if the Jump Street team (and thus the series, in Real Life) will continue at this point. Come Season 3, Jump Street is restarted.
  • End-of-Series Awareness: This, as the ending of Season 2, ends with the Jump Street program being suspended and the team dispersing to other jobs. In Real Life, the writers didn't know if the show would be canned or get a third season, and if it would have stopped here, this would have been a final episode wrapping things up. note
  • Goofy Suit: When Judy gets the P.R. job, she finds out it consists of being dressed as "Officer Milk Carton"—she literally has to walk around in a suit as a milk carton. A few scenes show her dressed up like this, and she is embarrassed by the suit.
  • Graduation for Everyone: Played For Drama: When Hanson finds a homeless kid desparate to graduate high school, living in the school's attic, he delays arresting the kid so the kid can graduate and get his high school diploma. At the end, we see the kid graduate indeed.
  • Mistaken Nationality: The husband of Dorothy's friend refers to the Grolsch beer he offers to Doug as "German", but in fact this is a Dutch brand.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: It is shown that Hanson, after discussion with Captain Fuller, puts off arresting the boy he finds in the high school's attic so that the boy can graduate. At the graduation ceremony, we see Hanson arrest the unrelated "toilet bomber" (the reason Hanson came to the school in the first place), but the fate of the "attic" boy is never revealed (we see him graduate, but what did the Jump Street team do with him afterwards? Did he get arrested? If so, how and when?).
