Go To

A Quintesson scientist kidnaps Ultra Magnus, Cyclonus, Wreck-Gar, and Marissa Faireborn so they can be studied and experimented on. The four break free and try to find a way off the Quintesson's ship. However, the ship ends up getting pulled towards a black hole and all parties involved must put their differences aside if they are to survive.

Tropes

  • Crossover Cameo: The Quintesson uses a hologram of (an older) Flint from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero to lure Marissa onboard his ship, revealing that she is actually Flint's daughter.
  • Enemy Mine: Ultra Magnus and his allies are forced to team up with Cyclonus and the Quintesson once the ship ends up in the gravitational pull of a black hole. Everyone ends up supplying their own parts to help repair the ship's engines to launch themselves back out, with the exception of Marissa and the Quintesson who are the ones doing the repairs.
  • Forgot About His Powers: Cyclonus attempts to hijack the escape pod to get off the ship before it's sucked inside the black hole. However, his alt-mode is spaceship itself. So, he really wouldn't need the escape pod unless it was somehow faster than his vehicle mode.
  • Humans Are Insects: The Quintesson scientist has a low opinion on humans and fully admits that he's only studying her to figure out a better way to destroy her kind.
Quintesson Scientist: You are an insect, to be studied and then disposed of when you are no more use to me!
  • Mad Scientist: The Quintesson scientist captures the cast to study how they would react in unfamiliar environments, such as having holograms of their loved ones attack them or depriving Wreck-Gar of the cluttered environment of Junkion. His goal is to use this knowledge to figure a better way for the Quintessons to strike against their enemies.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: The Quintesson scientist takes note that Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus display similar behaviour when placed in the same situation. Both are soldiers who are loyal to their leaders, and refrain from using lethal force when attacked by holographic projections of them.
Quintesson Scientist: This Decepticon and Autobot are two of a kind. One is good and one is evil, but to me that is no difference at all.
  • Our Wormholes Are Different: The black hole ends up acting a portal to another universe where everybody's colour scheme is changed. To get back home, the ship needs to enter through a "white hole" that will launch them out of the black hole and take them to their original universe.
  • Restraining Bolt: The Allicon starts to short-circuit when it attempts to stop the Quintesson from taking the only escape pod, since it's been programmed to never turn against its Quintesson masters.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When the ship is sucked towards the black hole, the Quintesson immediately abandons the group and flees towards the escape pods. He nearly takes the only functioning pod, but Ultra Magnus pulls him out before he can leave.
